Live Painting
In 2018, I accidentally stumbled upon the world of live painting and it changed my perspective on what fine art is and how art can be experienced.
At the time I was about to graduate from college, art school had left me feeling as though my only option to succeed as an artist was to show in galleries to people who were very well versed in the traditional art world. This felt like a path nearly impossible to navigate . When a roommate of mine asked me if I’d want to come show some artwork at a music festival and paint, I hesitantly said yes, but I’m so happy I did. While I was there, I saw professional artists sharing their work and process with people who aren’t part of that traditional art scene but appreciated every aspect of it. Instantly, I knew this was a path I could follow and one I wanted to keep going down.
Ever since, I have taken every opportunity I can to live paint. From music festivals, to comedy shows, to painting in the streets, I try to entertain and share my love for creating with as many people as I can. Live painting fills me with so much joy and inspiration. It has become a way to meet people and share stories and to spread joy and creativity with others more directly.
